LEE COUNTY: Thanks to your tips, Isidro Rodriguez Lopez Jr. and Jeremy Wayne Lawson have been charged in an attempted break-in at the Kendale pawn shop in Sanford.
It was reported that this location held a large stockpile of weapons, ammunition and an undisclosed amount of valuables.
NC WANTED televised the story about the attempted break-in this summer and again in early fall. After the second broadcast, an anonymous caller phoned in a tip to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The caller provided information about one of the suspects, Jeremy Lawson.
The tip was then shared with the Sanford Police Department.
Detective Keith M. Rogers from Sanford PD ran a background a check on the suspect and confirmed his identification through the Department of Motor Vehicles. He went directly to the suspect's registered address at 1070 Frank Wicker Rd. in Sanford.
The suspect's father greeted Detective Rogers, who suggested the father visit the NC Wanted website to view the video of the attempted break-in.
The father then confirmed that the man in the video was his son, Jeremy Lawson, and that Lawson was home at the time.
But what the father said next caught the detective by surprise. He identified the second man in the surveillance tape as his other son, Isrido Lopez, Jr., who was also inside the home at the time.
As good fortune presented itself, the detective was able to apprehend both brothers residing at the same location.
These are the 8th and 9th captures directly related to NC Wanted's ongoing coverage of unsolved cases and most wanted fugitives in North Carolina.
