Today, Monday, June 25th, U.S. Marshals captured a third fugitive on NC WANTED’s Target Ten list. Shaun Marquis Tapp was found in Mount Vernon, New York as a direct result of YOUR tips after watching the show!
Shaun Marquis Tapp was wanted on charges that included felony child abuse. The crimes occurred in Durham just a few months ago.
Local authorities say Tapp spent months torturing a baby using horrific methods involving boiling water, burning cigarettes and a hot iron. At a local hospital, medical officials discovered not only long term injuries due to months of torture, but also evidence of untreated infections and severe malnourishment. The child and an older sibling were removed from the situation as soon as authorities were alerted.
