LENOIR COUNTY: Timeka Pridgen, 16, went missing from her home in May 2001. Investigators are looking for leads in her disappearance.

Pridgen is described as a black female, 5 foot 7 inches tall, 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She had braces on her teeth when she disappeared. Her ears are double-pierced and she goes by the nickname Meka.

Pridgen went missing from her home on South Street in LaGrange on Sunday, May 21, 2001. Authorities believe she was taken by someone she knew, who may have forced her out of the home after she let them in.

She was wearing a mint green V-neck shirt, knee-length skirt with white flowers, and a gold dolphin necklace. She was barefoot and left all of her personal belongings behind.

A person of interest in the case is Eric Earl Mercer Moore, who is serving his second prison sentence for sex crimes involving minors. Moore was a close friend of Pridgen's family.
