COLUMBUS COUNTY: Carol Dowless, a 26-year-old mother of four, went missing from her father's Whiteville home in September 2005.
Police are looking for information on her whereabouts.
Dowless is a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 5 foot 6 inches tall and 130 to 150 pounds. She has a tattoo of a dolphin on her right ankle and a fairy tattoo on her right arm. Her navel is pierced and her pinky fingers are crooked.
She was last seen by one of her children at her father's home on Pine Log Road in Whiteville around 1 a.m. on September 4, 2005. Her husband told police he heard a car driving away from the house around 5 a.m. He later found her car parked at her family's horse barn on the property.
Her cell phone was found broken inside the house.
Although Dowless had gone missing on two other occasions, she was always located before police were notified. Her husband said he and Dowless often argued and she had attacked him before. The couple had four children, and the youngest was only 3 months old at the time.
Police have not revealed any details on what may have caused her disappearance.
