Police arrested a man they say robbed a woman at knifepoint in Durham.

According to the Durham Police Department, the robbery happened just after 3 p.m. at the Bilboa Mart on the 3600 block of Angier Avenue.

Police said a man entered the mart wielding a knife and demanding money from the store clerk. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man, later identified as 39-year-old Lamaris Deon Wiliams of Durham, drove away from the store in a white Toyota Rav4, which was stolen from the city earlier in the day.

Police said officers located Williams shortly after the robbery and took him into custody. Authorities charged Williams with multiple crimes and placed him in jail under no bond.

According to police, Williams is suspected of committing similar crimes in the area and will appear in court on Tuesday.
